Dr.
Carl R. Thornfeldt is President, CEO, and Chief
Scientific Officer of Episciences, Inc. He is a
practicing dermatologist with 25 years of skin
research experience, 22 U.S. patents granted and
over 20 scientific publications in the area of
treatment of skin diseases and conditions, including
chapters in five dermatological textbooks. Along
with these accomplishments, he has also spent nearly two decades focusing
on researching the skin barrier and cutaneous inflammatory conditions.
Dr. Thornfeldt received his M.D. from the Oregon Health Sciences University. Soon after, he spent three years in family practice for the U.S. Navy, and completed his dermatology residency at University Hospital, San Diego, California. While running his private practice and conducting research, Dr. Thornfeldt has co-founded and held the position of CEO at several privately and publicly held companies.
Currently, Dr. Thornfeldt is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the University of Oregon Health Sciences Center. He has presented at numerous international, national and regional scientific meetings including, most recently, the 2008 American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. This spring his most recent textbook chapter will be released.
In 2003 and 2005, Dr. Thornfeldt was selected as one of the top 50 doctors in the U.S. by The Sinatra Health Report. He is the only dermatologist on the list.
